What is CyanoLakes?
CYANOLAKES provides services which assist in the management of aquatic ecosystems by providing realtime information and forecasts on cyanobacteria blooms and water nutrient pollution using earth observation satellite remote sensing technology. CYANOLAKES uses cutting-edge technology to derive information from satellites orbiting the earth in space. Using earth observation is a cost effective and efficient method for providing information services aimed at the protection of public health.

This week CyanoLakes is working with CSIR to validate Sentinel-3 Ocean and Land Colour Instrument. We will be making measurements at Roodeplaat Dam, near Pretoria, simultaneous to the Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-2 overpasses. WISA 2016
CyanoLakes attended the WISA conference in Durban from 15 to 19 May. Mark had the opportunity to present his research on the state of South African dams and on commercial applications for the water sector.
