The long-awaited ‘Aisyah Humaira (AH) dress made a comeback a few weeks ago and was almost sold out in just a few days. Here comes AH2, offering the same convenience stretch access which you love and made of the same quality lycra, but now with ruffled sleeves that add a touch of girlish playfulness on your favourite wear. The AH2 comes in the hot-selling colours such as black, tiffany, dusty pink, beige and the ever-favourite royal purple.
The Leena Executive Dress
The modest formal dress is a staple in every Muslimah’s wardrobe, but formal doesn’t mean compromising nursing access.
The Leena Executive Dress is made from cooling crepe material. Designed as office wear in mind, expect cutting and colours that give the formal look, complete with buttoned cuffs and a pocket on the side to store your access cards and keys. Perfect for those long days in the office and meetings, yet modest enough for solat.
The Leena Dress has a zip nursing access ACROSS the chest so that means ample space for your quick pumping sessions without the hassle of fumbling with buttons (on top of all your pumping gadgets. We totally understand!) We already love this dream piece! Comes in 5 classy, subtle colours.
The Dayanah Polka Dot Dress
Everyone needs a playful weekend dress, and that includes the nursing ummi 😉 The Dayanah Polka Dot Dress is our version of fun!

Omani Abaya
Ladies, one can never have too many abayas! Don’t you agree? For the latest edition of designs, we have come up with two new abaya designs made of the same luxurious, silky Ricci Nida Abaya fabric imported from Oman.
Omani Abaya Satin
You must have noticed our earliest version of this Omani Abaya that came with colourful chiffoned sleeves. For this round of the Omani Abaya design, it comes with a touch of satin. This design comes in very limited pieces so if you’re looking for something elegant yet not too overstated, this one’s for you. The Omani Abaya Satin comes in its signature across-the-chest zip nursing access.
Omani Abaya Gold
The Omani Abaya Gold, on the other hand, comes with a vertical golden zip on black. Perfect for those who prefer the rugged or clean and simple look!
The vertical zip is of a comfortable length, promising fumble-free nursing and spacious room for pumping. Pair this abaya with a yellowish tone of hijab and you’re good to go! Perfect for the office too!
Norlizan Beaded Lace Dress
The Norlizan Beaded Lace beat our records of the fastest-selling apparel last ‘Eid on Blessed Ummi. The luxurious pairing of beaded lace on silky satin charmed our customers, especially since it is designed to be nursing-friendly (zip access) with an inward pleat that provides space for a growing, pregnant belly, yet flatters the figure modestly after pregnancy.
You would be happy to know that the Norlizan is making a special come-back this season but only available in limited pieces and colours! Perfect for the back-to-back wedding seasons and dinner occasions in December.
The Arina Colour Block Top
The Arina Colour Block Top plays with vibrant and energetic colours for formal wear. The top comes with two zip nursing access on the left and the right. Cuffed with a single button, this top is also designed with an A-cutting with slits, promising modest coverage and a comfortable, loose fit.

Inspirational Ummi Series: Raudah Laza
StandardAfter a brief hiatus, the Inspirational Ummi Series (IUS) is back again! We feature mummies who, as always, wear various hats and do what they can to make the world a better place, for themselves, their families and even the community!
In Ramadhan this year, we introduced the Raudah Shimmering Chiffon Dress! In the latest edition of our IUS, we interview Raudah Laza, a primary school teacher and a mother whom we named the Raudah Dress after to honour her!
Together with a friend, Raudah began an Instagram shop, Chubbyprints, to extend her desire to motivate and inspire children to educators and parents alike through the use of customisable prints. Chubbyprints provides uniquely designed visuals, such as motivational posters, customisable bookmarks and prints made for the classroom (currently on hiatus till the December school holidays).
We interview Raudah to find out what exactly transpired in her mind when she began on her business and how she balances work, a part-time degree, family, Chubbyprints and other commitments!
BU: When was Chubby Prints born? What was your motivation that gave birth to the business?
RL: It started in 2013 December. I’ve always wanted to start a business as it is a sunnah. I had many ideas on what I wanted and shared them with my best friend, Liyana. In the end, we settled for Chubbyprints. It’s not so daunting to be embarking on it with a friend.
BU: Tell us about Chubbyprints.
RL: We are both primary school teachers and love children, so we design and print visuals that both of us would use in our classrooms. Our products range from customisable bookmarks, motivational posters, classroom helpers such as attendance or taking note of dates. We felt that being able to customise products were a big help to parents and educators, since our customers would have differing needs.
BU: How did you all begin? What were some of the challenges?
RL: Both of us were part of a network of teachers so we initially bounced ideas about classroom helpers we heard from many teachers, including ourselves. In the beginning we did all the cutting, laminating and labour work ourselves. There were many orders, Alhamdulillah! However, the production was very tedious. After that we sourced out for cheaper printers. One challenge we had was finding the right price. It sounded so simple before we started this which is to just put a number or a price. But when we started Chubbyprints, we realised it was not so easy. We didn’t want to overcharge as we won’t feel good doing so but at the same time, we needed to set the right price so that we would cover the cost price and make a profit.
Ultimately, being a full-time working mum was also a challenge, having to juggle both work and family.
BU: What do you foresee the future of Chubby Prints to be like? What are your future plans/goals for the company?
RL: One of our aspirations is to have more designers on board so that we can increase the variety of products. We are also hoping to cater more to parents and not just teachers. We are also hoping to include more novel designs and functions to our prints!
BU: How has it affected your family life? How is your family’s reception towards Chubbyprints?
RL: My family is very supportive of this. My husband would help me run errands like collecting the products or sending it for delivery. He never complains and I feel that he is proud of what I do, which means a lot to me. I’m grateful.
BU: In juggling work and family, there must be some struggles that you face. Tell us about some of them and how you overcame these struggles.
RL: One struggle is that I need sleep! But sleep doesn’t come by easily. At the same time I enjoy wearing many hats as I believe that there is a reward for all that I do for the sake Allah.
BU: What is your daily schedule like? Tell us how you divide time between work and your family responsibilities.
RL: Hmm I don’t have a daily fixed schedule. However I have an organiser in which I monitor the family’s activities. I would write everyone’s events and plans in it. I check it weekly and would divide the time at least one week in advance. I think this is very important as I am juggling work, part-time degree and family. My husband is also on the Mosque Management Board and have many events and meetings apart from his work. As a family we need to ensure that our son is well-taken care off and not devoid of attention. So I try to plan carefully. If I have an assignment due, I would block out the dates which I plan on doing it and inform my family early so that they can make accommodations.
BU: Who are your role models that have shaped your view on motherhood? Who do you think you emulated?
RL: My mother has shown me how to love unconditionally. She sacrificed many things for me. She also invested in large amount of time educating me in the early years. I also have an aunt who is very driven and loving at the same time. She excels at what she does at work. And when she comes home she still manages to give her 3 children her time and energy.
BU: If you could also bring to light other mothers within your community whom you would deem an inspirational mother, who would it be? Tell us the reasons why.
RL: Siti Mariam Bte Muhd Harith. She is a HOD IT in my school, Macpherson. She has finished her masters (which she did while she was working) and now pursuing her Doctrate. She is also a breastfeeding mum of 2 (going 3). Being a teacher is already so difficult. But HOD…? I don’t know how she does it!
BU: What are some of the experiences you went through which contributed to who you are today?
RL: I’ve supported myself financially since Poly days. I’ve tried many part time jobs. I’ve done waitressing , custumer service, administrative job, marketing, childcare teacher, tutoring.. At the same time I was also a mosque youth committee member. So I had organised many events, done fundraising, manage teams, attend meetings and many more. All these experiences are priceless.
Stay tuned for more mummy features and hear more stories of how the ummis in our midst continue to serve the community on top of their family responsibilities!
Lactogenic Food Series: Dates
StandardRamadhan is fast approaching and what better way to boost our milk supplies by consuming dates?
Dates are considered one of the most wholesome fruits due to its multiple benefits. This small-sized but action-packed fruit contains a whole lot of nutrients that we aren’t surprised it’s a sunnah practiced by the Prophet SAW to consume dates as part of a normal diet. Such a blessing from Allah SWT.
Inspirational Ummi Series: Author Ildasolha Jamari
StandardFor a lot of us, writing books may be something that is very far from our minds. But for mother-of-two ILDASOLHA JAMARI, a real need for children’s books paved the way for her to author her own books. Ildasolha (who writes under the pen name as Ummu Shazeb), 29, is an educator who is undergoing teacher-training at the National Institute of Education (NIE) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore. A mother of two toddlers (a three-year-old and one-and-a-half), Ilda finds the time to manage her young family in the midst of juggling her studies in the Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE Primary) at the NIE as well as authoring two board books written in the Malay Language for young children. Blessed Ummi talks to Ildasolha to find out just how she does it. Continue reading
Lactogenic Foods Series: Lactation Cookies
StandardSalaam ladies!
On our Facebook page recently, we featured a link to the Top 10 Lactogenic Foods that may be useful for ummis to sustain their milk supply. As part of our new Lactogenic Foods Series, we will be introducing recipes (some are so, so simple) as part of a fun way to help you incorporate lactogenic foods into your diet and at the same time helping you boost your milk supply.
For today’s recipe, we feature lactation cookies! The idea of eating cookies to boost your milk supply is just simply divine, isn’t it?
Here’s the recipe for Lactation Granola Bars.
We adapted the recipe from here because it is a healthier option and filled with so much gooood add-ins.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole grain old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1/4 cup flax seed
- 2 tablespoons brewers yeast (there are Halal options. Choose the one made from baker’s yeast)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 sliced or mashed banana
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, blueberries, apricots)
- 1/2 cup dried, shredded coconut (try it toasted!)
- 1/2 cup nuts – walnuts, almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, etc.
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Make a well in the center and add all of the wet ingredients. Mix together well. Gently mix in your add ins and press the mixture into your prepared pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes, turning once halfway for even baking. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes and then cut into bars of your desired shape and size.
There are so many great links out there. Here are some of our favourites (some recipes look simply mouth-watering, we don’t mind eating them beyond our breastfeeding days!):
- A Pinterest board on lactation recipes (yum!)
- Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies (really sounds fit for Hari Raya) – did we see CHOCOLATE?
- Boobfood Lactation Cookies (a very engaging and descriptive entry on how lactation cookies work)
Happy baking! ❤

10 Moments Mothers Would Know
StandardSalam! Something fun to keep you spirited and recollect the funny, laughable moments with your children! We couldn’t resist jumping on the “10 moments/situations…” bandwagon and we thought one for mums and babes would definitely add to the fun.
Here you go!
#1: The moment you and baby are all dressed up and ready to go, and baby gives one big vomit on himself AND you.
#2: When baby poops, complete with sound effects, while you are among strangers.
#3: When baby nurses so noisily under your nursing cover (breastfeeding mums, you know I know)
#4: You’ve just put on a new diaper for the baby, and he/she poops again.
#5: Smelling of sour milk all day because your baby had a spit up this morning.
#6: You’ve spent hours singing baby a lullaby, rocking him, passing him around and when he finally fells asleep in the cot, someone with a motorbike comes zooming under your block. Honestly.
#7: You’re breastfeeding a fussy baby and someone says you don’t make enough milk.
#8: Your baby just simply can’t be separated from you but you REALLYYY need to go to the toilet.
#9: Seeing your baby smile for the first time.
and finally,
#10: Having so much love for this little being that no words can express it 🙂
Have a blessed day ladies! ❤
