Project Details

Land was identified for use as a food store, for which an Environmental Statement was required.  Just Ecology were involved with assessing the ecology of the site prior to this identification and we continued our work with the project team in order to minimise the ecological impact of the scheme.

Our work included further protected survey work for bats, great crested newts, badgers and invertebrates in order to describe the baseline environment, carrying out detailed impact assessment and developing a detailed mitigation programme, as well as liaising with the project team and Local Authority on the ecological aspects of the scheme.

Recommendations for mitigation included the creation/enhancement and management of orchard, parkland and woodland, all UK Biodiversity Action Plan priority habitats.
