This crime is stirring the Indian society that has been manifesting for several weeks and is demanding justice for this little girl of 8 years killed in barbaric conditions.
Her name was Asifa Bano, she was 8 years old. On 17 January, her body was found in the forest near Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, India, by a neighbor. She had disappeared 7 days earlier when she had to bring the horses belonging to her family back home. Immediately, his parents and relatives went to search for him, and on January 12th, warned the police. But, as reported by the BBC, it was not really cooperative, even going so far as to say that their 8 year old daughter had to "run away with a boy".
Asifa did not run away, she was kidnapped. According to the investigation, she was drugged and transported to a local Hindu temple. She was allegedly "raped for several days, tortured and then killed." Killed by strangulation, but also by stones on his head. "His legs were broken," his mother testified. "His nails had turned black and there were blue and red marks on his arm and fingers."
