English Schools Athletics Cup

Congratulations to the four teams who successfully qualified for the Regional ‘A’Final’ which will take place in Bedford on 15^th June.

The 'A Final' will take place the day before the Borough Final, so a busy couple of days for our athletes!

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

On the 28^th March, staff and pupils attended a DofE event at the Civic Centre and received an award for the most improved completion rates in the borough.

UKMT Maths Challenge Competition

On the 14^th March, pupils from Years 9 and 10 travelled to Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green to take part in the UKMT Maths Challenge.  There were 4 rounds consisting of a group, crossnumber, shuttle and a relay round. In an exceptionally difficult field, consisting primarily of grammar and independent schools, the team finished a very respectable 'mid-table'. Congratulations boys - well done.

U13 Girls' Football Team - Essex Cup Final

On 13th March, the U13 Girls' Football Team beat Brentwood High School 7-1 to win the Essex Cup. 

Congratulations girls - a truely great performance.

DfE Letter of Commendation - Nick Gibb MP

On 9th March, the Academy received a letter of commendation, in recognition of the 2016 GCSE results, from Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for School Standards.
