SECURITY @ THE STUDIO                                                                                                                                                                 Our wonderful Edmore is no longer working for us as he has been on a 2 month course which will hopefully lead him to a great job in his field. Although we miss him so much we are in regular contact with him and wish him only success and good health for his future.                       We are fortunate to have two new security guards Amanda and Themba who are both also simply fantastic and would like to welcome them both to the studio.

Welcome back to the 4th and final term of dancing for the year.

It is a short but busy term with the assessments coming up and the studio closing on Tuesday the 6^th of December however the third term was abnormally long so it balances out J

The studio will reopen on Monday 23^rd January 2017                                                                                                       Please see attached next years timetable. We have highlighted all options for your child\children. Please confirm what classes your child would like to do next year.

ASSESSMENTS

All kids doing an assessment have been given the schedule together with this notice.                                                            Please be sure to diarise your relevant day and time and please submit payment no later than 2^nd November.                           It is R180 per assessment.

We will be having a surprise party for Edmore at the studio on Tuesday 6^th December from 5:30 -6:30pm. Everybody is invited and we ask you bring a packet of crisps or popcorn, juice or cupcakes with for the party J                                                                                                                                                                                                               Please consider donating towards a Christmas and extra special graduation gift for Ed which will go towards work clothes and travel expenses once he gets employment in the financial field. Donations can be given to Romy or Andy. This gift will be presented to him at the party on the 6^th.                                                           

Lastly Romy will be packing and distributing food parcels to the needy for Christmas

Items needed include:                                                                                                                                                   Sugar, Rice, Samp, Mielie meal, cooking oil, non-perishable tinned foods, toilet paper.

Once you have ordered and paid photos will be delivered to the studio and may be collected from our guard Edmore who will have them.

 

APPEAL! The only awful and negative thing that happened during the show was the theft of 5 cell phones belonging to senior dancers. We have tried to get to the bottom of it and regret that without any proof it is impossible to say for certain who took them. Thankfully 4 of the 5 phones were insured but the 5^th was not. This child’s family do not have the means to replace her phone. If anyone has a spare smart phone they are willing to donate it would be massively appreciated!

 

TERM DATES

Please note the last day of dancing for this 3^rd term is on Monday the 10^th of October

WITH EXCEPTION OF THESE TWO CLASSES WHO WILL HAVE THEIR NORMAL CLASS ON TUESDSAY THE 11^th:

The studio reopens for the 4^th term on Wednesday 26^th October.

ASSESMENTS will take place at the studio on THURSAY 17^th and FRIDAY 18^th November.

 

A detailed schedule will be uploaded onto our website by the end of the week including information on hair and outfits.

We know this is not during their normal class times and that kids have other things on the go, but it is just a once off and each session is only about 20 minutes.

It is a fantastic opportunity for the kids to show their syllabus work to a professional dancer.

There are no marks given. Each and every child will get a medal, a certificate and report filled with compliments and only constructive criticism.

3. STAGE & DRESS REHEARSALS – Stage rehearsals start at the Victory Theatre on Monday 15^th We have already given out personalised schedules for these but the rehearsal schedule is on the website – again PLEASE look at the site for details.

 

4. Further details regarding hair, makeup, times to arrive at the theatre on the show days, dvd’s and photos will be given out at the first week of stage rehearsals.

 

PLEASE REMEMBER THERE IS DANCING ON TUESDAY 9^th AUGUST. We are well aware that it is a public holiday but it is our last practice at the studio; we are on stage the following week! Children HAVE TO ATTEND CLASS THAT DAY!!! We gave notice of this in February!

Also Wednesday the 3^rd is voting day. THERE IS DANCING AS NORMAL PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILD ATTENDS!! Kids cannot vote and it is not an excuse for them not to attend!

We are having 3 weeks of stage rehearsals and our Junior and Senior full dress rehearsals are on two separate Sundays. Please make sure you diarise these dates immediately.

We do our best to schedule these rehearsals on the same day as normal classes and as close to the normal times as possible but it’s IMPOSSIBLE to have them all on their normal days/times. We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused; but it is only for a 3 week period and we have given you a good 3 months’ notice.

We are well aware that the times overlap; this is for a reason so please follow the stipulated times given.

COSTUMES

We realise how expensive everything is these days so we are always mindful to try give the girls beautiful costumes that can be worn for classes after the show at the best possible price.
Please take into account that Bev comes to the studio to measure each and every child. Fabrics which are currently very costly due to the weakened Rand are sourced and each costume is then custom made and delivered to the studio.

There are a number of children in the studio who cannot afford their costumes. If anyone is willing to sponsor a child’s costume please let Andy or Romy know. Any contributions will be most appreciated.

Costumes must be paid for no later than July 31st and can be paid by:

EFT: You may pay Bev directly via internet transfer, however if proof of this transfer is not emailed to The dance boutique with your child’s reference as a name they cannot assume you have paid.
CHEQUE: An EFT is preferable but if need be you may pay with a cheque.

Romy will be taking an adult class on Friday mornings incorporating ballet, modern, and a touch of hip hop at the studio from 9:15am – 10:15am.
