Cut gypsum board into a pice of an equilateral triangle, slightly larger than the damaged area. Sand the three sides to make a 45 slope from the face side to the back side
Place it on the damaged area and draw its shape
Cut the inner drawn triangle by a utility knife
Slope all edges inward at 45 until matched with the triangle-shaped cut board
Coat butt joint with Gypsum plaster two to three times
After each coat, wait till dry, then lightly sand and decorate it
