The drying skin of a passion fruit, a moorland scene and my background in
healthcare has also influenced my use of colour, with the hues and tones of
the human body communicating the descriptions of desolation and death in
the opening chapters of the book of Isaiah.
My work is painting, Fine Art and my current project felt like research
as I tried to understand the layers contained within the text of Isaiah.
I enjoy the exploration of mixing mediums: charcoal, oil and acrylic. Through line, composition and colour I am constantly searching for answers to help resolve the turmoil of spiritual or psychological experience.
Hope in some of life's struggles is elusive but I search for it within the process of painting and the practice of painting becomes a consolation.
Colour line and movement through landscape and the relationship between landscape and the body continue to provide me with inspiration.
I graduated from Manchester School of Art 2015, receiving the Ken Billany Prize for Painting 2015.
I have taken part in group exhibitions at The Holden Gallery Cafe May 2014 and The Holden Side Gallery
in 'Chiaroscuro' December 2014.
Current member of Neo Artists Studio, Lancashire.
